Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
Many people live with bladder leaks, pelvic pain, pressure, constipation, painful intimacy, or changes after pregnancy or menopause without realizing that these symptoms are common—but they are not something you simply have to live with.
Pelvic health physiotherapy is a specialized area of physiotherapy that focuses on the muscles, joints, nerves, and connective tissues that support your bladder, bowel, reproductive organs, and core. Whether you're preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, navigating menopause, returning to exercise, or simply wanting to move through life with greater comfort and confidence, pelvic health physiotherapy can help.
Pelvic health physiotherapy is for people of all ages and stages of life. Whether you've been living with symptoms for years or they've only recently begun, you deserve to feel heard, supported, and empowered.

Frequently asked Questions
-
We’ll take the time to get to hear your story, offer an assessment head to toe, make a plan together that will draw out a framework to get you to your goals. We want you to leave feeling clear on what the plan is and the next steps to feeling better.
-
Come as you are. If you are already feeling hesitant about an internal exam, we recommend coming with your bladder a bit on the full side (and let us know) and we can offer you real time ultrasound as an assessment tool at your first appointment. We understand that taking this first step in your health journey can be intimidating but we’re here to support you at your pace with many options of how we can work together.
-
No. You can access physiotherapy directly without a referral from your doctor. You can simply call or fill out an intake form to get started.
-
An internal examination is often our gold standard to provide you with an accurate sense of what is going on at your pelvic floor but it is never required. We can make meaningful progress using external assessment or real time ultrasound. Your treatment should be collaborative and individualized and guided by your comfort and preferences.
-
Yes! Real-time ultrasound is one of the tools in our toolbox. It gives us a non-invasive way to see how your pelvic floor, bladder, and abdominal wall are moving and working together. For many clients, seeing this on the screen creates an “aha!” moment and helps connect what they’re feeling with what’s happening in their body.
-
You can seek physiotherapy care anytime you need support in your pregnancy. We often recommend aiming for a few appointments in your second trimester to learn some proactive tips and tricks for common pregnancy aches and pains (or address them if they’ve already begun) and 1-2 appointments in your third trimester to help you prepare for birth and postpartum.
-
We usually offer a new baseline assessment including a pelvic floor and core check at 6 weeks postpartum after the initial healing of sensitive tissues but if you’re struggling or need some guidance, don’t feel like you have to wait that long to touch base.
-
Yes! Everyone has a pelvis! Common things that people with penises seek treatment for include pelvic pain, erectile dysfunction, preparation or recovery from prostate surgery, constipation, or urinary incontinence, difficulty, or urgency.
